TICKETING & REFUND
TICKETING & REFUND
Last updated: 23 July 2026
1. Scope of this Policy
This Ticketing & Refund Policy applies to tickets and registrations for events listed as part of German Week Melbourne.
German Week Melbourne is operated by German Week & Culture in Victoria Inc.
The German Week Melbourne program includes:
-
events organised and ticketed directly by German Week Melbourne;
-
events delivered in partnership with other organisations; and
-
independently organised events promoted through our website.
The organiser and ticketing arrangements may differ for each event. Please review the relevant event page and any conditions displayed during registration or checkout.
2. Ticket Prices and Bookings
Ticket prices are displayed on the relevant event or booking page and are stated in Australian dollars unless otherwise indicated.
Any applicable booking, service or payment-processing fees will be displayed before payment is completed.
Please check the event name, date, time, venue, ticket type and total price before confirming your booking.
A paid booking is confirmed once payment has been successfully processed and a confirmation or ticket has been issued. A free registration is confirmed once a registration confirmation has been issued.
You are responsible for providing a correct email address and checking the details in your confirmation.
3. Free Registrations
Some events are free but require advance registration because places are limited.
If you register for a free event and can no longer attend, please cancel your registration or contact the relevant organiser as soon as possible so that the place can be offered to another guest.
4. Change-of-Mind Cancellations
Unless otherwise stated for the relevant event, tickets are generally non-refundable if:
-
you change your mind;
-
your personal circumstances change;
-
you are no longer able to attend;
-
you arrive late or miss the event; or
-
you make an incorrect booking.
Different cancellation or refund arrangements may apply to individual events. These will be displayed on the event page, during checkout or in the booking confirmation.
Ticket transfers or name changes may be permitted depending on the event and ticketing system. Please contact the relevant organiser before transferring a ticket.
5. Event Cancellations and Major Changes
If an event organised and ticketed directly by German Week Melbourne is cancelled, affected ticket holders will be contacted using the details provided during booking.
Where required by law, eligible ticket holders will be offered a refund. Depending on the circumstances, another option such as a replacement date, transfer or credit may also be offered.
If an event is postponed or rescheduled, existing tickets may remain valid for the new date. The organiser will communicate the available options.
Minor changes to an event, such as changes to the running order, speakers, performers, start time or venue arrangements, will not generally result in a refund where the overall nature of the event remains substantially the same.
Where an event is significantly changed, any refund or alternative offered will depend on the circumstances, the event-specific conditions and applicable consumer law.
6. Partner and Externally Ticketed Events
Some events in the German Week Melbourne program are independently organised or ticketed by participating organisations.
For these events:
-
the relevant organiser is responsible for ticket sales, cancellations and refunds;
-
the organiser or ticketing platform may apply its own terms and conditions;
-
refund requests must be directed to the organisation or platform that processed the booking; and
-
German Week Melbourne may not be able to issue or approve a refund directly.
The relevant organiser or ticketing provider should be identified on the event page or booking confirmation.
Event-specific conditions set by an event partner will apply to that event, subject to applicable law.
7. Requesting a Refund
For events directly ticketed by German Week Melbourne, refund enquiries should be sent to:
Please include:
-
the purchaser’s name;
-
the email address used for the booking;
-
the event name and date;
-
the order or booking number; and
-
the reason for the request.
For independently ticketed events, please contact the organiser or ticketing provider shown on your booking confirmation.
Submitting a request does not automatically guarantee a refund. Requests will be assessed according to this Policy, any event-specific conditions and applicable law.
Approved refunds will generally be returned to the original payment method. Processing times may depend on the payment provider or financial institution.
Booking and payment-processing fees will be refunded where required by law or where they are returned to German Week Melbourne by the relevant provider.
8. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this Policy excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy provided by the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
Where this Policy is inconsistent with a legal right that cannot be excluded, the applicable legal right will prevail.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy if our events, ticketing arrangements, service providers or legal obligations change.
The current version will be published on the German Week Melbourne website with the date of the most recent update.
